In 2003 I was interviewed by Jon B. Cooke for his Comic Book Artist Bullpen magazine. The magazine was never published, but Jon has been kind enough to send me a copy of the mock-up that I'm sharing with you. It's a in-depth piece that covers my life and work up to that point. It's followed by another interview with me, conducted by Jason Strangis - portions of which were updated much later. This is the preliminary mock-up, so there are still a few typos here and there -- and seven years have passed, so much has changed in my life. I'm still in Minneapolis, drawing comics and teaching off and on at MCAD (Minneapolis College of Art and Design). Wendi Lee and I split some time ago, and I just celebrated my second wedding anniversary with my wife, Erika. My daughter, Elizabeth, is now a grown woman with two sons (yes, I'm a grandpa!), Dawson and Tristin -- and Erika and I have a little boy named Kirby, who, for better or worse, loves to put crayon to paper.
I hope you'l enjoy this -- but keep in mind the time frame in which it was done.
